Information for Parents

The wearing of school uniform is fully supported by the Department of Education, Kanahooka High School P&C Association, The Uniform Committee and the Student Representative Council. The parent surveys conducted previously indicate an overwhelming endorsement of full school uniform.

Under the WHS Act 2013, the Department of Education & Communities must ensure that students are not exposed to risks to their health or safety while they are on Departmental premises.

Kanahooka High School has a duty to require a standard of dress in the educational setting include, but are not limited to:

 Requiring students to wear appropriate footwear, eyewear or other protective clothing so as to avoid injury

 Requiring students to wear a hat for outside activities when appropriate

 Requiring that jewellery or other items that could, with reasonable foreseeability, cause an injury to themselves or other students are not worn.

Clothing Pool

Students in genuine need of assistance with uniform may obtain items of clean, pre-loved clothing free of charge by seeing the Front Office. Donations of outgrown items of uniform are eagerly sought and most gratefully accepted throughout the year. Please leave donations at the Front Office.
