School based assessment policy

At our school, assessment is an integral part of teaching and learning. We use school-based assessment to monitor student progress, inform teaching practice, and support every student to achieve their best.

Assessment in NSW Department of Education schools aligns with syllabus requirements set by the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) and supports the learning outcomes outlined in each course. Our approach includes a balanced range of assessment strategies, such as classwork, projects, practical tasks, examinations, and ongoing formative assessment.

School-based assessment provides students with multiple opportunities to demonstrate their knowledge, skills, and understanding across a variety of contexts. Teachers use assessment information to provide timely feedback, guide future learning, and ensure appropriate differentiation.

Our assessment policies outline expectations regarding task notifications, submission requirements, academic integrity, illness and misadventure processes, and appeals. These documents are available below for your reference.

We are committed to maintaining fair, transparent, and consistent assessment practices that support student achievement and wellbeing.
